L. BROOKS ANDERHOLT, OWNER/PARTNER


Mr. Anderholt formed the firm in 1990. He practices in civil litigation, collections, business law, contract disputes and juvenile law.   He also serves as an arbitrator and mediator for civil disputes.

Mr. Anderholt graduated from San Diego State University in 1982 with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice Administration while employedBrooks Anderholt as a deputy and sergeant by the Imperial County Sheriff's Office. He received his Juris Doctor from Western State University College of Law - San Diego in December of 1986.

Mr. Anderholt is a grandson of an Imperial Valley pioneer family and was raised on the farm. His background in local agriculture as well as law enforcement proves invaluable in the litigation of many of his cases.

Mr. Anderholt is a member of the Imperial County Bar Association, Past President of the Holtville Rotary Club, served as a member of the San Diego State University Alumni Association Board of directors for six years, President of the Imperial Valley College Foundation, a former Commissioner for the Imperial Valley Housing Authority, and has served on the Imperial Valley Literacy Volunteers of America Advisory Board. He was honored by SDSU Imperial Valley Campus as its 1992 Alumnus of the Year. He was also honored by Imperial Valley Literacy Volunteers of America as its Volunteer of the Year - 1995-1996.

Mr. Anderholt is fluent in English and Spanish.

THOMAS W. STOREY, OWNER/PARTNER


Mr. Storey joined the firm as a partner in 1999.  His emphasis is in criminal defense.

Mr. Storey first became acquainted with the criminal justice system as a deputy sheriff in 1970. Mr. Storey completed his education through Western State University while working for the Imperial County Sheriff's Office as a deputy and sergeant. Mr. Storey transferred from the Sheriff'sTom Storey Office to the Imperial County District Attorney's Office after receiving his Juris Doctor.

Mr. Storey is a second generation resident of  Imperial County.  His law enforcement experience and experience with the District Attorney's Office influenced him to run for political office.  Mr. Storey was elected District Attorney of Imperial County and served as District Attorney until 1987.

Mr. Storey has tried in excess of one hundred fifty criminal trials through verdict since he started practicing law in 1978. His experience as a law enforcement officer, deputy district attorney, district attorney, and criminal defense attorney make him one of the most experienced and qualified criminal defense and trial attorneys in Imperial County.

VERONICA A. HENDERSON, ASSOCIATE


Ms. Henderson joined the firm in January of 2008. Her time is spent primarily in juvenile dependency matters, as well as in criminal law and family law matters as needed.

Ms. Henderson graduated from The University of Texas in Austin, Texas with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master of Arts Degree in Sociology, with an emphasis on Criminal Justice. While working on her Master’s Degree, she interned at the Texas Office of the Attorney General. She received her Juris Doctor degree from McGeorge School of Law (University of the Pacific) in Sacramento, California and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2000. While attending McGeorge, she interned at the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office and the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office.

Upon passing the bar exam, Ms. Henderson began working as a Deputy District Attorney for the Yuba County District Attorney’s Office in Marysville, California. She was assigned to the juvenile court, where she adjudicated minors in delinquency cases and represented children in dependency cases. She was then assigned to the misdemeanor trial team, where she prosecuted a large volume of cases, including DUI’s and vehicular manslaughter. She was then assigned to conduct preliminaryVeronica Henderson hearings in felony cases, primarily involving drug manufacturing. She served as trial attorney in several felony cases, including attempted murder and sex crimes. While working full-time as a prosecutor, Ms. Henderson served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at McGeorge School of Law, where she taught Appellate Advocacy to second-year law students. After leaving the DA’s office, she worked in private practice in Yuba City, California, working mostly in the areas of criminal defense, family law, and juvenile dependency. 

Ms. Henderson is a native Texan who is now proud to make her home in the Imperial Valley. She is a member of the Imperial County Bar Association. Ms. Henderson is involved in the Rotary Club and other organizations that allow her to assist others in the community.
